Hotel Leadership Conference wins Bronze at Conference Awards

November 24, 2020 by Georgia Ward

Master Innholders and Custard Communications have been awarded a Bronze in ‘Best Development of an Existing Conference’ category at the 2020 Conference Awards for the relaunch of the Hotel Leadership Conference.

Led by the Master Innholders, the Hotel Leadership Conference was redeveloped with the support of Custard Communications to lead change in the industry and open the event to all levels of hotel professional. The new positioning and brand for the Hotel Leadership Conference, formally known as the Annual General Managers’ Conference, saw the delivery of the sold-out ‘must-attend annual event for hoteliers’.

Recognised for the innovation, growth and audience engagement throughout the event, the 2020 Conference Award judging panel had the following comments:

  • “This was clearly a good event and a great improvement on previous years with increases in revenue and delegates.”
  • “Great use of social media. Impressive growth.”
  • “Driving solutions and inspiring change is what a conference should be about. 99.4% of the attendees citing as must attend is great.”
  • “Excellent entry that shows attention to detail in all core areas of organisation from market research through to execution. The results are truly impressive!”

A committee of seasoned industry professionals supported the delivery of the conference, comprising Danny Pecorelli FIH MI, past chairman of the Master Innholders and managing director of Exclusive Collection; Dan Rose-Bristow FIH MI, conference  chairman and co-owner of The Torridon; Wallace Vincent, executive secretary of the Master Innholders; Petra Clayton, CEO & founder of Custard Communications; Georgia Ward, head of marketing at Custard Communications, Fiona Patrick, conference sponsorship director and James Clark FIH MI, general manager of Hilton London Bankside.

Commenting on the award win, Dan Rose-Bristow said: “The Hotel Leadership Conference is for those who aspire to be better hoteliers and industry professionals. We combined forward-thinking content with the need to inspire and lead change within the industry to create a staple event in the hotel industry calendar.

“To be recognised amongst other incredible events outside of the hospitality industry is an outstanding achievement for the entire Master Innholders conference committee and one I am very proud to have been part of.”

Petra Clayton added: “Our main objectives for the development of the Hotel Leadership Conference were to attract a broader audience outside of the Master Innholders network, encourage teams to attend and grow delegate numbers to make this the leading hotelier event in the UK. The implementation of our integrated marketing approach and brand strategy, alongside a strong education programme, enabled us to elevate the conference’s position in the market and showcase the value of the event across the hospitality industry.

“I’m thrilled our work with the Master Innholders and the conference committee has resulted in a Bronze Conference Award and look forward to building upon our seven-year relationship with the Master Innholders for many years to come.”

The Hotel Leadership Conference was recognised alongside fellow category winners Employee Engagement Summit by Engage Business Media and The Apprenticeships Conference by Inside Government.
