Central Hall Westminster expands with launch of new large-scale event space

September 8, 2025 by CUSTARD

Central Hall Westminster has expanded its event offering with the launch of The Susanna Wesley, a 919sqm room with capacity for up to 800 guests, reflecting a strategic investment in response to growing demand for large-scale, flexible venues in central London.

Designed as a versatile, contemporary environment for conferences, exhibitions, large-scale events and full venue hire, the reimagined lower-ground floor represents a considered expansion that strengthens Central Hall Westminster’s ability to meet increasing business inquiries while enhancing the experience for organisers and delegates. Alongside it, the venue has also introduced the Wesley Café on the ground floor, improving visibility and accessibility for all visitors.

Rhiannon Thomas, Head of Sales and Marketing at Central Hall Westminster, commented: “We wanted to create a space that responds to the needs of today’s event organisers. It is not just about adding more square footage; it’s about opening up a flexible environment that complements the rest of our historic building and enables our clients to bring ambitious ideas to life. We are already receiving strong interest, with eight events confirmed and prospective bookings reaching as far ahead as 2030. It’s rare in London to find a space this size and flexibility within such a historic setting, and we are excited to see the opportunities it creates for our clients.”

The new space offers a strong contrast within the Grade II* listed venue. While the building retains its heritage features, the Susanna Wesley room provides a minimalist backdrop designed for creative transformation. Skylights bring natural brightness to the lower-ground floor, while advanced AV with LCD screens and PA sound system, modular power options and tailored lighting options by supplier White Light allow organisers to adapt the space for any event. The layout can be used as one large suite with the interconnecting Westminster Foyer, or divided into three interconnected rooms: The Susanna Wesley, Aldersgate Room, and Epworth Room, offering maximum flexibility.

With 25 flexible spaces and capacity for up to 2,000 guests, Central Hall Westminster is one of London’s most iconic and adaptable venues. Its versatility has been demonstrated by events such as Katy Perry’s “Night of a Lifetime” for ITV, Microsoft’s AI conference, and the recent Gala de Danza, while its history includes landmark moments from the inaugural meeting of the United Nations to speeches by Martin Luther King Jr. and Gandhi. The addition of The Susanna Wesley introduces a new chapter in this legacy, aligning the venue’s heritage with the needs of today’s fast-moving events industry.
