Foxhills celebrates 50 Years by donating £50k to support hundreds of local children

July 25, 2025 by CUSTARD

As the summer holidays begin, Foxhills Club & Resort is proud to announce the record-breaking return of its charitable initiative supporting local families, the Foxhills Community Camp.

To mark the club’s 50th anniversary, Foxhills has pledged £50,000 to support local families in need, bringing the total raised by its members and charitable trust to nearly £250,000 for the camps now in their sixth year.

This year’s funding will provide more than 700 camp places, helping more local children than ever before.

Running in August and the October half term in partnership with the local council, Foxhills Community Camp offers vital support to families across Runnymede, one of Surrey’s most deprived boroughs.

The camps are designed to help parents who struggle to find affordable childcare during the school holidays, while offering children aged 7–12 a safe, enriching and inclusive space for fun, food and friendship.

Children are referred through trusted local agencies, including Action for Carers and the Family Support Programme, and all participants are either young carers or qualify for free school meals.

The Camps are run in the local areas of greatest need, the Camps include a full schedule of arts and crafts, sports, bushcraft and orienteering, along with three meals provided each day.

Marc Hayton, Foxhills Club & Resort’s CEO, said: “As the club celebrates our 50th year, our long-standing commitment to supporting the community has never been more important. Our 50th anniversary is the perfect moment to expand that impact. Foxhills members and colleagues are involved in fundraising which the club will match up to £50,000. The Foxhills Community Camps represent more than just a summer programme, they’re a chance to provide local children with a safe, fun and enriching environment, while easing the burden on families in need.”
