The Meetings Industry Association (mia) is offering members of the business meetings and events industry the chance to learn new skills and improve existing ones through its timetable of informative events this autumn. From tips on how to deliver show rounds that delight, to finding out how to use social media to grow a business, the workshops and masterclasses will arm attendees with the know-how to succeed. On Thursday 5 September, James Lee will deliver an illuminating insight into how to deliver show rounds that excite and delight customers in his workshop Show rounds – The New World! The all-day event at Woodland Grange, Leamington Spa, is aimed at business leaders, sales professionals and operational teams, who will learn how to implement best practice into show round delivery before leaving with a plan they can use in their own organisations. Social selling and Linkedin expert Daniel Disney will share his top tips for leveraging LinkedIn and social media to grow your business and generate sales in the Social Selling Workshop on Friday 11 October. The all-day London-based masterclass will teach delegates how to master the four key pillars of social selling and give them the skills to build the ultimate social media profile to generate sales, find prospects online and more. Those at conference and meetings venues who are responsible for drafting and issuing contracts to event organisers will want to clear their diaries on Friday 18 October for the Venue Contract Workshop. Nick Milne will deliver a full day workshop covering best practice in event contracting, including the mia’s CODE and Model terms and conditions. Finally, October will include a free two-and-a-half-hour workshop Optimising AV Solutions: The Ultimate Client Experience. Led by experts from SMIT Visual and Epson, the session will showcase the latest AV solutions for the meetings and event industry and look at how the delegate experience can be improved through more effective display solutions.
