Meet Elsa, our PR Apprentice

At Custard, we are dedicated to nurturing, training and developing outstanding marketing and PR talent. A champion of apprenticeships since our establishment in 2007, we have partnered with PRCA, the world’s largest and most influential PR professional body, to offer our latest team member Elsa the opportunity to gain a nationally-recognised qualification and on-the-job training while working in our evolving industry.

Here is how Elsa has found her apprenticeship journey at Custard so far:

Having joined Custard back in September, I have been partaking in my apprenticeship with the PRCA for five months. Throughout the programme so far, along with the unwavering guidance of Custard, I have seen my industry knowledge grow extensively day by day.  As part of my apprenticeship, I have had the opportunity of attending two seminars at the PRCA so far, which have introduced me to each of the different elements of PR and a new range of skillsets, such as presentation techniques, to support me in becoming an experienced PR professional.

At Custard I have had the opportunity to get involved with numerous different activities. With the support of the Custard team, I have been able to develop my storytelling and copywriting skills, learning how to approach writing in a more chameleonic way. I have also enjoyed supporting with the content creation and delivery of social media for several clients, as well as being an active member of our internal digital team, allowing me to build upon my understanding of digital marketing.

My apprenticeship will come to end in 2021, and at the end of my course I will receive a Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship in PR. Throughout the remainder of my apprenticeship, I look forward to the diverse activities I will be able to get involved in and strengthening my PR experience. I hope to remain with the exceptional team at Custard, continuing to evolve and develop my appreciation, understanding and knowledge of the ever-changing industry.
