By Natalie Blachford

Families looking for a traditional seaside escape this October half term can head to The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne, for five-star luxury where kids go free. Nothing makes parents happier on a family break away than delighted children and at The Grand, younger members of the family are made to feel extra special. With their own bathrobes, use of an OFSTED approved playroom, DVD players and films and even milk and cookies at bedtime children will feel like royalty. Teenagers are also catered for with unlimited internet access, Molton Brown toiletries, a daily voucher for a soft drink at the Cocktail Bar and a Playstation console and games. Meanwhile, parents will be able to enjoy the wonderful spa facilities, relaxing dining with special family dining arrangements and luxurious surroundings. Eastbourne is not just about bracing walks along the seafront; there is a wide variety of attractions to keep all ages happy during half term, including the Eastbourne Miniature Railway, the Towner Art Gallery, Drusillas Park, Redoubt Fortress, The Observatory Science Centre, Spay Valley Railway and the beautiful Beachy Head.

During the half term week (Saturday 21-Sunday 29 October), children up to the age of 12 stay free when sharing a room with two full-paying adults, starting from £165 per room, including breakfast. Special rates for teenagers are also available on booking.
