The Challenge

Reinforce the creativity of hosting an event at The Deck at National Theatre, London and increase bookings post Christmas.

The Solution

Finding new channels to promote a venue is difficult and messages can be lost in translation. Custard needed to demonstrate the creativity and professionalism The Deck at the National Theatre offers and make it the first choice for London events – from workshops to weddings.

Custard found a way to be at the forefront of buyers’ and agencies’ minds whilst demonstrating the flexibility of the venue, creative theming available and the unique food offering.

The Result

1,000 calendars were printed at the end of 2012 and sent to clients, warm business leads and targeted media in time for the New Year. Doubling up as a Christmas gift, the calendar was a cost effective way of promoting The Deck to their target audience and were well received with a number of recipients sharing their thanks. Event spending in 2013 increased by 17% compared to 2012 and there was a substantial rise in events taking place that took inspiration from the themes suggested in the calendar.
